about
hMy name is Wiebke Kirchner. I am a visual artist and art educator, born and living in the east of Germany. Until 2016, I studied Fine Arts with a focus on Painting/Graphics at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle, Germany.
Among other achievements, I received the international scholarship for Armenia from the Art Foundation of Saxony-Anhalt (2018), the Cranach scholarship from the Cranach Foundation Wittenberg (2019), the Artist-in-Residence scholarship from the city of Vechta, as well as the „Kultur an Netz“ scholarship from the Investment Bank of Saxony-Anhalt (2023). I regularly present my work both nationally and internationally, including at the German Embassy in Yerevan (Armenia), the Art Foundation of Saxony-Anhalt, or the Hase29 Art Association in Osnabrück.
My artistic work is inspired by my engagement with the cultural characteristics of social spaces and biographical narratives about processes of transformation. Using materials such as printed paper, wood, foils or acrylic glass, I translate the visual and narratives impulses into detailed compositions. My practices encompass the experimental areas between image and object, serving as invitations into spaces of association, interpretation and communication.
Since 2016 it is my passion to help provide access for people of all ages and from different backgrounds to artistic activities and thinking, and to foster a sense of self-efficacy. Based on my own artistic work, I have developed a variety of workshop formats and successfully applied them in various contexts. My concepts offer exciting opportunities for sustainable artistic experiences.
Furthermore I am delighted to support artists through mentoring in adapting their artistic practice for the education sector. I also offer further training for professionals in various fields to enhance their skills in dealing with artistic methods. My expertise and professional networks enable me to provide tailored advice and the concrete implementation of projects in schools and social institutions.
